You can enter your own API key by clicking the Settings icon on the main page. Your key is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) — it is never sent to our servers. Get a free API key at remove.bg/api.

Absolutely! After the background is removed, you'll see a set of color swatches — including transparent, white, black, red, blue, green, and gradient options. Click any swatch to preview the result in real-time before downloading.

The downloaded file is a full-resolution HD PNG, matching the dimensions of your original uploaded image. It includes a transparent background by default (unless you selected a color swatch).

Yes! Paste any publicly accessible image URL into the URL input field on the main page, then click Remove BG. The image must be publicly accessible (no login required).

If you opened the file using file:// in your browser, PHP cannot execute without a web server. You need to run it through a local server such as XAMPP, Laragon, or WAMP, or deploy it to a live hosting environment.

Yes! Processed images may be used for commercial purposes (e-commerce, marketing, etc.), as long as you hold the rights to the original images. Review our Usage Agreement for full details.
